Baburaj is a native of Kerala, India, who received his training as a yoga teacher from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center. As a yoga teacher since 2004, he has taught in Thailand, Vietnam, India and currently teaches in Moscow, Russia. While Baburaj's list of yoga accolades is impressive (1st prize Yoga State Championship 2004, 2nd prize International Yoga Championship 2009), he maintains a very spiritual practice that is based on the basic tenets of yoga. Baburaj is also a second degree Reiki healer and has trained in both Indian classical music and Taichi.

An Evening Sadhana with Baburaj

Hatha Yoga practice helps a person maintain good co-ordination between body, mind and breath. In this session also we give more importance to the breath with its synchronization. Vinyasa means flow. We maintain a flow from posture to posture. In sun salutations, we add different postures in order to make the class strong and challenging.

Prana means energy, ayama means control, another meaning is expand. Breath contains prana. So getting the control of prana by controlling the breath in a systematic and rhythmic approach is pranayama. In this session we will practice different types of pranayamas.

Meditation. Starting with one simple but effective breathing technique, we continue the session with continuous "OM" chanting. After that, we let the participants lie down on the mat. At that time they have to listen to the instructions of the teacher. Finally we end the lesson with one shanthi manthra.
