TRIPSICHORE INVERSIONS - THE ART OF GOING UPSIDE DOWN
A weekend of Learning and Leisure

The workshop with Heather will explore expressive inversions that will strengthen your practice and bring about freedom and creativity. Heather's specialty in teaching Tripsichore inversions allows her to break down the postures with clarity. This workshop is not only for experienced practitioners who would like to get into new variations of headstands, handstands and arm balances, but also for beginners who can benefit from Heather's guidance and precise instruction. The first day we will focus strongly building comfort and ease in inversions by introducing the Tripsichore style using the breath to inspire a smooth continuous flow while entering and exiting. This style of breath and inverting will most likely be new to even advanced practitioners with a steady practice of inversions. We will also work on how to use the breath to move the legs and explore other leg variations upside down. The basics of breath and movement are the same for headstand, forearmstand, and handstand, so students will eventually be able to choose where they would like to work.

Friday December 12
at The Ock Pop Tok Living Crafts Center

6pm - 7:30pm
Introduction to Ujai breathing
Tripsichore sequences: linked, unlinked, circles, standing splits
Brief headstand workshopping (guided play using the breath to float into headstand)
Ending with seated postures and breath to Savasana.

Saturday December 13
At Kiridara Hotel (Free pick-up available)
9am - 11am
Theory behind vinyasa and Tripsichore, Prana-yama, Bandhas.
Practicing Ujai: laying, sitting, standing

Using the established breath and moving into trips sunsalutes
Review: headstand w/ Tripsichore leg variations

11:30am - 1pm
Establish breath warming with review of sunsalutes. extra breath, 2 2's, circles, standing splits 
Partner workshopping of basic Tripsichore style handstand (option forearms)
Intro of A's and B's and how to move into inversion in flow, (headstand, forearm stand or handstand)

1:30pm 
Lunch and leisure by the Kiridara Pool
20% off the a la carte menu
20% off any spa treatment

Sunday December 14
At Kiridara Hotel (Free pick-up available)
9am - 1pm
Same layout as Saturday with content dependent upon progress of students
Options to work on back-bending, inversions to back bending, press handstand prep, arm variations in inversions

1:30pm
Lunch and leisure by the Kiridara Pool
20% off the a la carte menu
20% off any spa treatment
